Professional athletes from all over the world were flying feet first around the sand next to the Huntington Beach Pier on Saturday and Sunday as the city hosted the California Footvolley Tournament.
Footvolley, a game created in Brazil in 1965, combines soccer with beach volleyball. That means no touching the ball with hands or arms — just feet, legs, head or chest.
The sport is usually played by professional soccer players to help improve their skills, technique, speed and fitness.
